A lot happening in one of the best pinots yet from Old Kent River. Strikingly complex notes of black cherry and truffle on the nose, with that distinctive varietal forest floor complexity.

Old Kent River Wines was established in 1985. The vineyard, located in the Frankland Rive Wine
The region is renowned for its cool climate, single-vineyard wines. The owners have decided to take
things easy going forward and have their final and concluding vintage in 2018. With this in mind
Mark and Deb decided to do just one red variety they hold closest to their heart and by some
winemakers referred to as the heartbreak grape. From this flowed this very true and expressive
example of Pinot Noir.

Old Kent River 2018 displays classic aromas of black cherries, ripe raspberries and forest floor. The
palate reveals maraschino cherries, shitake mushrooms and preserved strawberries with lots of
concentration and intensity. Maturation for 12 months in larger Burgundian oak provides subtle
spice and toast and a velvety structure that contributes to a lovely lingering finish. A true example of
the terroir where these vineyards were nurtured by both Mark and Deb for many years. Their
passion and dedication will be dearly missed.
